- 11am-4pm

Social Saturday and bilingual Quaker outreach filming
When: 31st January 2026, 11am-4pm
Where: Bangor Quaker Meeting House
We’re delighted to invite you to join us for a day of fun, Friendship and filming!
Quakers in Wales are currently working on updating our suite of bilingual resources, with an emphasis on making sure that we have quality print and media resources available for use by Friends in Wales ahead of the Senedd elections on 7 May 2026.
As part of this we have arranged for Isaac, a Quaker videographer from Aberystwyth, to join us at Bangor Meeting House on the 31st of January to film some informal interviews with bilingual Friends from North West Wales. We’ll particularly be focussing on Quaker values and how these interact with our civic responsibilities at this time. We are therefore looking for Friends who are willing to join us and be filmed chatting about this.
The initial output of this will be a short (up to 90 second) outreach video which will be available to meetings and Friends in Wales to use before, during and after the Senedd elections this year. This will help us to amplify messages of solidarity, community and love in the run up to the election and more broadly in the current political climate.
We would also like to use this as an opportunity to bring Welsh speaking and learning Friends in North West Wales together to socialise. This means you are welcome to attend even if you do not wish to be interviewed! The day will include a shared lunch (please bring some contributions!) and Carina will ensure a steady supply of tea and cake.
We understand that the timetable of the day is quite long, so if you are willing to be interviewed but will only be able to attend for a limited part of the day, please let Carina know via email (crynwyrcymru@gmail.com) so that we can adjust the filming schedule around this.
Also if it’s your first time being interviewed or filmed, please don’t be nervous! We will take our time, give you an opportunity to think about what you want to say (and try again if it doesn’t come out quite right the first time!), and keep our conversations short.
We hope to see many of you there and please feel free to contact Carina with any questions about this (or broader Quaker advocacy and outreach work) in the meantime - or with cake requests!
Simple. Radical. Spiritual.
