REFLECTIONS OF KATY DAVIES ON THE FEB 2026 MEETING OF CCQW

The following words are from Katy Davies (Milford Haven Local Meeting):

‘…Do you respect that of God in everyone….think it possible that you may be mistaken.’

The words of Advices and Queries 17 resonated from our opening worship as we were introduced to Ruth Campbell’s presentation of ‘Imagine Action’, with the idea of looking forward rather than backward. We heard of tools to redefine cultural narratives, inspire engagement and unlock change. Of the breadth and depth of an activism that is intersectional and connected from environmental to social concerns. To tell a different story, inspiring connection rather than conflict.

My sense of the outcome of the session was that we felt inspired to engage with ‘Imagine Action’ tools in our Quaker activism and that the idea of ‘intrinsic values’ allies well with ‘that of God in everyone.’

We were certainly looking to the future in terms of the rest of the business of the day, which included agreement to a residential event for 2028; noting the laying down of Meeting for Sufferings to take place in May; and, a report from the Eisteddfod planning group.
